When the extension can't reach a marketplace

Seeing 'Could not connect to <marketplace>'? Here's how to debug in 30 seconds.

If you're seeing this error, you're not alone, and it's usually not your fault. Marketplaces have bad days. Bot defenses misfire. Cookies get cleared. Networks hiccup. Most of the time, the fix takes less than a minute. Here's the order we'd try things in.

Step 1 — Check the marketplace is up

Open the marketplace's website directly in a new tab. If it loads normally, the marketplace is up — skip to Step 2. If it's down or showing an error page, that's the issue. Wait 15-30 minutes and try again. You can confirm a wider outage by checking downdetector.com or the marketplace's status page.

If only Closo's extension can't reach the marketplace but your browser can, that points to a session or cookie issue, not a marketplace outage.

Step 2 — Re-login in a fresh tab

Open the marketplace in a fresh tab. If you're not logged in, log in. If you're already logged in, do something simple — browse your closet, view a listing, change a setting. This refreshes your session cookies in a way the extension picks up automatically.

Wait 30 seconds, then return to Closo. The badge usually flips back to green within a minute. If it doesn't, continue to Step 3.

Step 3 — Re-install the extension (last resort)

If the badge has been red for more than a few hours and Steps 1 and 2 didn't help, the extension itself might be in a stuck state. Go to chrome://extensions, find Closo, click Remove, then install fresh from the Chrome Web Store. Re-link each marketplace from Closo's Marketplaces page.

Total time: 3-5 minutes. We're working on making this unnecessary; for now it's the cleanest reset.

When to contact support

If all three steps fail, or if you see the same problem across multiple marketplaces simultaneously, email support@closo.co with your seller ID, the marketplace(s) affected, and a screenshot. We respond within a few hours during business days.

Specifics that help us diagnose faster: the badge color, the time the issue started, whether you'd recently changed your marketplace password or 2FA settings, and whether you've moved to a new computer or browser.
