Your Finances dashboard: profit, COGS & taxes

Track profit and loss across your inventory: cost of goods, sale matching, profit breakdown, import and export your numbers, and set up rules to fill costs automatically.

The Finances dashboard turns your inventory into a profit-and-loss view: what each item cost you, what it sold for, and what you actually made. You'll find it under the Inventory menu.

Profit & loss

Finances pairs each sale with the item's cost of goods (COGS) to calculate your profit. A profit breakdown (histogram) shows how your items are distributed across profit ranges, so you can see at a glance which inventory is earning and which is dragging.

Cost of goods and cost source

Each item carries a cost of goods. Closo tracks where that cost came from (its cost source) — whether you typed it in, imported it, or it was filled by a rule — so you can trust the numbers behind your profit.

Slices

Use the Draft, Active and All slices to focus the view: Draft for items you're still preparing, Active for live inventory, and All to see everything together.

Rules engine

Instead of entering costs one by one, set up rules to fill cost of goods automatically based on conditions you define. New and existing items that match a rule pick up the cost without manual entry.

Import and export

The CSV import wizard walks you through bringing in costs and sales from a spreadsheet, mapping your columns to Closo's fields. Sale-event matching links imported or recorded sales to the right items so profit is calculated correctly. When you need your numbers elsewhere — for an accountant or your own records — use CSV export.
