Marketplaces hand out short-lived session cookies. Mercari expires yours in about 30 minutes. Vinted in about 15. Poshmark in around an hour. Depop in roughly four hours. When those cookies expire and nothing refreshes them, Closo cannot post on your behalf — your scheduled Sharer and Refresher work silently fails until you come back online.
For most of Closo's history the answer was: leave Chrome open with the Closo extension running. That works when you are at your desk. It does not work when you are asleep, at the gym, traveling, or selling from your phone.
Closo Cloud is a dedicated cloud browser — pinned to your account, running on Closo's side — that handles cookie refresh for you. It runs 24 hours a day, refreshes your marketplace sessions on each marketplace's natural cadence, and uses the same browser to run your queued listings, edits, and delists so the marketplace sees one consistent visitor.
How it works, in plain words
Closo Cloud is essentially a real Chrome browser that lives on our servers and pretends to be your browser. It signs into Poshmark, Vinted, Depop, and Mercari on your behalf using the cookies your local extension first captured. Then, every 10-30 minutes (different cadence per marketplace), it does a tiny background refresh to keep those cookies alive.
When Closo has work to do for you — share your closet on Poshmark, list a new item on Mercari, drop a price on Vinted — that work runs from the same cloud browser that refreshed the cookies. The marketplace sees one consistent visitor every time, not a refresh from one place and a listing from another.
Cloud runs on a residential IP from your region — not a datacenter IP. To Mercari or Poshmark, the requests look like they came from a real Chrome on a real home internet connection.
Which marketplaces, and how well
Coverage is not equal across all marketplaces — each one has a different bot-detection vendor with different strictness. Here are honest, current numbers for how often your sessions stay fresh offline:
Vinted — ~85% offline-fresh
Depop — ~70% offline-fresh
Poshmark — ~40% offline-fresh
Mercari — ~25% offline-fresh
Who gets Closo Cloud
Closo Cloud is included on the Unlimited plan ($59/month). Free and Pro sellers can keep marketplaces warm by leaving Chrome open with the Closo extension running — that works well for sellers who are online most days.
How is this different from leaving Chrome open?
Your local Chrome works when it is open. It does not work when Chrome crashes, when your laptop sleeps, when the OS kills background tabs to save memory, or when you close the lid for a 2-hour meeting.
Local Chrome also only runs from your home internet when you are at home. If you travel, your network changes and marketplaces notice. Cloud runs from a residential connection pinned to your region 24/7 — your marketplaces always see the same neighborhood, the same browser, the same Chrome version.
And Cloud uses a Chrome configuration that looks like a real seller's browser — matching the setup actual people have on their machines. A plain Chrome left running on a forgotten Windows laptop does not match those signals as cleanly.
What Cloud does NOT do
Cloud also does not replace eBay or Shopify authentication — those are official OAuth APIs and do not need a Cloud layer. Cloud is for the four marketplaces that require a browser session: Poshmark, Vinted, Depop, Mercari.
Coming soon — mobile
A Closo mobile companion app is in development. When Cloud cannot resolve a Mercari captcha on its own, it will send a push notification to your phone so you can tap once and clear it without opening your laptop. The iOS app is targeting Q3 2026.
