If you're seeing 'session expired' on one of your marketplaces, the marketplace dropped your login. This isn't a Closo bug or an account issue — it's a normal thing browsers and marketplaces do. Reconnecting takes about 30 seconds.
Why marketplaces expire sessions
Marketplaces expire sessions for several reasons. Some are scheduled — Mercari, for example, gives you a 30-minute cf_clearance cookie that's required for any logged-in action. When that cookie expires, your session is effectively over until the next renewal.
Others are reactive. If you changed your marketplace password (anywhere — phone, desktop, support flow), the marketplace usually invalidates all existing sessions for security. Same if you logged in from a new country or a flagged IP.
Some are mystery. Bot defenses occasionally drop a session for reasons even the marketplace's own engineers can't quickly explain. This is more common in periods when the marketplace is tuning its anti-fraud system.
How Closo detects it
Closo's extension watches your sessions continuously. When it tries to use a session (during a background refresh or an active listing) and gets a 401 or similar 'you're not logged in' response, it marks the badge yellow and tells the server. The server then schedules a deeper re-check on the next refresh cycle.
If the deeper re-check also fails, we mark the badge red and surface the 'reconnect needed' message in your dashboard.
Reconnect, step by step
Three clicks and you're done:
Open Marketplaces in Closo's sidebar. Find the affected marketplace card. Click Reconnect.
A new tab opens to that marketplace's login page. Log in normally (with 2FA if you use it). The extension catches your fresh session cookies on the way back.
Return to Closo. The badge should be green within 10-20 seconds. Your queued listings resume automatically.
